The year 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Côte d'Ivoire. In order to promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, the Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire in China held a celebration in Beijing from 22 to 23 November, including an economic and trade forum, a Roundtable on the national development plan of Côte d'Ivoire for the period of 2021-2025, and an exhibition, etc. The Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire in China, Wu Peng, Director General of the Department of African Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire and other officials attended the Roundtable.

The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the People's Republic of China established diplomatic ties on 2 March 1983; since then, cooperation between the two countries has developed remarkably, reaching an unprecedented level of connection each other. Over the past 40 years, the two sides have always maintained a sincere and friendly attitude and supported each other on issues involving mutual core interests and major concerns. The two countries have become important friends and partners on the road to development and renewal.

Mr. Kim Zhu, Chairman of Mainland Group, was invited to participate in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties between China and Côte d'Ivoire. Mr. Kim Zhu had in-depth exchanges with representatives of the governments and business communities of both countries, shared Mainland Group's experience and strengths, explored the possible opportunities for future co-operation, and discussed with other business leaders on how to deepen economic and trade co-operation and to promote the development of the bilateral relationship.

In the end, Mr. Kim Zhu once again expressed his blessing for the great success of the celebration. He emphasized that the event provided China and Côte d'Ivoire with valuable opportunities for cooperation and laid a foundation for deepening economic and trade relations. Mainland Group will also make efforts to give full play to the advantages and characteristics of Chinese enterprises, actively promote the friendly cooperation, and contribute to the sustainable development of the economy and trade of both countries.
